Ledgeview - Mixed Bag

Saturday we all hiked up to the top of the Ledgeview trails (a 40 minute hike). It was my wife and I, our 2 kids, and their cousin. I had my unicycle, but the rest were along for a hike. It had been raining the previous few days, and on the way up we met a mountain-biker coming down the main road who said it was too slippery for him, and he decided not to ride. Also passed a couple groups of hikers.

At the top we sat down for a quick lunch, as the kids told mom about the really steep part of the trail we took last time, behind the radio tower. This time we planned to take the gentler but longer trail to the far right.

Just as we were finishing up our lunch another mountain-biker came up the road, and it turns out he goes to my church, and our wives are friends. We chatted for some time about unicycling before he headed off down the trail. He says he rides here alot, so perhaps we'll try the trail together sometime? The weather started to cloud over a bit after lunch, which was great for me riding, and I think my wife dressed a bit too warmly, so it was good for her too.

Anyhow, the ride was great. Beautiful fall colours - and an excellent view from the cliffs. We took "Little Butt" down to "Mixed Bag", and ended up at the bottom about 2 1/2 hours after we left the car. A good length ride - and the difficulty level was perfect for me. I was able to ride up some of the rollers this time that I fell off on last time, so that made me feel good. As for mud, there wasn't anything very bad. I think the walk was a bit long for everyone else though, but there were no complaints at the time.
