I started unicycling as my kids were taking the training wheels off their bikes and learning to roller-blade. I just wanted to get off the couch and spend more time with them outside. I was also suffering with high cholesterol at the time, and needed to seriously think about some sort of exercise program. Little did I know how fun unicycling can be!
I bought my first unicycle for $50 off of Craigslist, and didn't have a clue how to ride the thing. I would work-up quite a sweat after just 10 minutes of trying to sit still on the thing while holding on to a pole for dear life!
So I began searching the interwebs for instructions on how to ride. That's where I first heard about the idea of Mountain Unicycling - or MUni. From that point on it was my goal to take my unicycle offroad. And once I did that, there was no turning back...
