Ledgeview - Frontside Trails

Decided to try riding the front-side trails on Ledgeview today.

Apparently there is a pretty good road up from the front side, but I never found it.

I arrived at the parking spot, to find out that it is blocked off due to road construction, so I headed up the hill to the next cul-de-sac, thinking I could start from there. Indeed, there was a trail access at the end of the street.

Almost immediately after I began, I came across a beautiful waterfall, with
the sun filtering in under the trees. It was something.

I followed the trail, continually veering to the right, attempting to join up with the access road below, but never did find it. I ended up going the wrong way up a tra
il rife with big jumps, berms, etc. Hiking up from below, I don't think I could handle ANY of it on a unicycle. Of course, I'm sure it looks alot different approaching from above. At one point I bro
ke out into a field of cows :), and was able to see what looked like a much easier path about 50 feet below me.

After an hour of hiking (mostly), I got to the top of the cliffs. Even ran into a
couple of hikers along the way. From this point on I was able to do alot more riding.

I had a pretty-good gps track which I downloaded from TrailPeak, which I used to keep on track.
Once I got to the cliffs, I made a plan to try and find a particular parallel trail and come back on it, to see if it was easier.

I got to a big open field at the
top (which I fou
nd out later was maybe 50 feet from the North access road), where I stopped for a snack and a bit of a rest before heading
down.

Indeed, the way down was alot easier. Whether it was an easier trail, or it just seemed easier because I was heading down, I don't know. I rode down the trail to the fence, then followed it down to the front (south) access road that I had been looking for in the first place, and rode that all the way to the bottom. Sore legs!

It dumped me out in the middle of the new road construction, but I didn't see any workers around. Had to ride up some steep roads to get back to my car, but at least it was smooth.
